1.
You've become a better shade of green. and taken down the giant with a sling. And took him to the ground with your being. You've taken the golden fields of wheat, and taken down the battles of defeat. Illumination goes on through and within. David killed Goliath and cut his head, he knew the body's disassembled, but the spirit's not dead. So go on, dear David, take the road you're travelin' on. And leave your sling behind the stone. You don't need it any longer, you don't need no tools, for all you need is right inside you, you've been beating the fool. I love the message that your body has portrayed, you're becoming free from your own slave.

Mother May I 04:48
Past which once was thought as the future, pictures of footprints in the dirt. Moving Mother Earth. Oh mother may I sit to dine? Tell my world it's out of line. May truth be told, and time be swift. Before existence turns to myth. Here me out, oh mother may I take you as my pride and joy? Oh take me back to where I left my heart.
3.
Robins 05:38
Robins fly with a confidence this night; for wherever goes the life whose path is visible in day? Robins, they fly with a greater eye these days. To the blinded eye I call on you, to see a different sea, to see a different robin, to see a different bee, as the dust flies out your window, so with it goes life. So goes its strife.
4.
Why must this time fall short? When all else seems to free flow Like the raging river run. A ship will then sail from port As soon as restless waters Wilt lay down rest their heads. And for once he thinks of all the madness But comes home to the mad miss Confused but dazed as hell. For twice he looks inside his thick chest Of hard working dirt and flesh as it pours out like rain. Into the channel’s main. Why must these days grow long? Helpless, tired waiting on the edge of a rocky bank. He’ll build her a wood shack by the lake To pass the night a dreamin’ of a time they'd both awake. And for once he thinks of all the madness But comes home to the mad miss Confused but dazed as hell. For twice he looks inside his thick chest Of hard working dirt and flesh as it pours out like rain. Into the channel’s main.
5.
Sundrops 04:57
Sundrops on heaven's tail(tale), why, oh why must I be here? Songs of the nightingale, heard along the mount and dale. Tear drops on heaven's floor, why have I seen this before? May the rain, solve this petty shame, to realize we're all the same.
6.
Discovery 08:08
Bring me down to the river where I shall discover a longing one. Take me back to where I caught your name. In that endless moving picture frame. Take me across the bank, lift your dress, you'll surely thank me for we're treading in knee deep water. Again, again, again, I gain a sense we'll meet again; If the world just keeps on turning. If the world keeps on turning...

Highlands 08:58
Hey little darling don’t you shy no more, Just keep on shining through an open door Hey little darling see your glass is full With a stranger’s heart you’re a stranger to the soul. You and I will search for love in highlands. Move little honey just let it be, For we shall fly until the highlands freeze. Move with wind feel the spirit of the trees, Then come home to the comb where we’ll set it all free. Hey little darling won’t you let it be, Come a little closer let your flag fly freely. Let it fly in the shining spring, Let it fly in the light here lingering You and I will search for love in highlands. Hey little darling don’t you cry no more, For love is shining right outside your door

about

"Highlands" is the original debut album for Lawrence, KS band The North Fork--recorded and produced by Chris Maddox at Attic Traffic Productions. The 43 minute LP blends elements of folk, progressive, psychedelic, and jam rock to create a sound with emotional peaks and valleys. Chris did an excellent job of capturing the essence of the North Fork's live sound, with the professional quality of a studio LP. You have the choice to buy a digital or hard copy, featuring the gorgeous landscape painting of the Wyoming high plains, by David Titterington. Thank you for your continued support of the North Fork.
